Description
Valdecarrizo Technologies MAX7000S CPLD Development Board
Designed by Valdecarrizo Technologies, this development board provides a practical platform for building and testing custom digital logic. It is built around an Altera MAX7000S EPM7128LC84-15 CPLD in a PLCC84 socket. The board measures 100 × 100 mm, supports JTAG programming and 5 V TTL-compatible signals, and includes a dedicated prototyping area.
Programmable logic development
The MAX7000S CPLD combines programmable logic arrays and configurable macrocells for implementing custom logic, arithmetic functions and state machines. The device can be programmed in-system through JTAG, allowing you to update the logic design without removing the CPLD from its socket. It can be used with established HDL design workflows such as VHDL and Verilog, together with compatible design software and programming hardware.
Key features
- Altera MAX7000S CPLD: EPM7128LC84-15 device in a PLCC84 socket.
- JTAG programming: Program or reconfigure the CPLD in-system.
- 5 V and TTL compatibility: Designed to interface with standard 5 V TTL logic.
- Prototyping area: Add and test custom components and circuits on the board.
- Compact format: 100 × 100 mm board for bench, classroom or lab use.

Revision C updates
Revision C adds reverse-polarity protection using a diode and a multifuse. The layout also provides more prototyping space, with square pads inspired by Vero-style prototyping boards to make solder bridges easier to form.
Applications
Use the board to learn CPLD and HDL design, prototype digital circuits, experiment with logic functions, or develop small automation and control projects. Its prototyping area makes it possible to combine the programmable logic device with additional circuit components.
